Default Interracial Couple Moving to Fairburn GA

We are an interacial couple planning to move to fairburn ga. We are looking for a diverse area. We are thinking of moving to a new sub development along campbellton fairburn road near where it intersects with south fulton parkway. The development is lexington park by silver creek communities. We want to know if the area is safe and a good place to raise a family. Is the area growing and more stuff developing still? Does anyone have any feedback?

How is renaissance elementary and middle schools? I believe that is what we will be zoned for.

Who is the best company to get a home owners insurance policy with?

the area is still growing but has kind of slowed down, as has every other area, due to the economy. But there's more development on the way and it's close to the city

We want to know if the area is safe and a good place to raise a family. Answer: Yes Fairburn is a very nice safe place to raise a family. Fairburn is also interracial friendly and my friends live in Lexington Park and love it!

Amica or Liberty Mutual for homeowners insurance

Coming from a guy with inter-racial couples as friends. You may have a few issues here. We've gone out with them from time to time and I have never seen so many stares in my life. I mean people here are literally rude with their body language when it comes to inter-racial dating. It has gotten to the point that my friend has had to approach people on several occasions to ask them "what were they looking at," or "is there a problem."
You're not getting many responses because people are afraid to tell you the truth about what they feel. I've seen the reactions and it is disgusting.

I am a Fairburn resident, and I can say that Fairburn is a cool place to live, pretty diverse. I've lived here for about 5 years.

As far as those stares, you will get those ANYWHERE you move. The important thing to remember is that people can stare all day everyday, that's what ignorant people do. I am stating exactly what I feel. I have never been a person to care what people thought, or paid them any attention when they stare because life is too short to be concerned. If they don't bring home the "bread" or run my household, I could give a sh#t. People will stare at you for anything; the only way you will know they are staring is if you are staring or looking back.

As far as Renaissance Elementary and Renaissance Middle, they are not the most diverse schools, but, they are pretty good schools. I have colleagues that teach at both.

The area you are speaking of (South Fulton Parkway) is a cool spot, as is most of Fairburn. As Bob Barker would say, "Come on down!"

Yeah, confronting someone because "he was looking at us" is always a good idea...some people are very paranoid and FEEL LIKE people are looking at them. They probably need to get more comfortable with themselves and their situationfirst, and then even if some people stare for whatever reason - it's not even noticeable.

I've had someone ask why I was looking at them, when in fact I was looking at the video screen just above their heads.

I usually take it as a compliment if someone is looking at me a little too much...

So do you date inter-racially?? I doubt it so you are speaking from a stance that isn't based on what you've experienced. I have friends that date inter-racially and I have done it on many occasions. I've been all over this nation and the places that where I've received the most irritating reactions to inter-racial dating have all been down south. I went to school in Alabama and its bad there as well in that regard. However, I didn't have to deal with it as much because I only dated a person of another race a couple of times in that state. But out here, OMG.

It's so disgusting that I'm not even going to debate it with anyone. Unfortunately, you will find out based on 1st person experience. Just like I did a couple of years ago and like my friends do every Friday night!

Good luck and stay blessed.

Actually, I HAVE dated interracially, and my brother has a caucasian girlfriend that he has been dating for 5 years and has not had the same problems as your friends have. So, you are wrong since you "doubt" it. They go everywhere; they were both born and raised here. People probably did look when I was with my caucasian boyfriend, and they probably look at my brother and his woman. But, they are so not concerned at what people think, or if they are looking at them because it's not an issue, going back to my original post. If it's that disgusting, I suggest doing some real soul searching so that other people's reactions and opinions about your happiness isn't an issue to a point that you won't even go out anymore.

So everyone's experience is different in that you will be completely miserable if you spend time dwelling on the looks people give you or what people think. As for the original post, Fairburn is a great place for ANY couple, family, or individual.
