I don't know about all that...L.A., San Diego, Seattle, and many other growing cities are not considered 'cheap'.
I think that a good deal of Atlanta's popularity has come from word-of-mouth. The majority of new residents LOVE it here from what I can tell, and they advertise it to all of their friends back home.
"It's October and I'm wearing shorts outside!"
"We weren't pressured to join a fire and brimstone Baptist church!"
"There is so much to do around this city!"
"The people here are so welcoming and friendly!"
"Our neighborhood has 47 other Catholic families!"
"The city is gorgeous in the spring with all the dogwoods and flowers!"
"My commute is only 15 minutes!"
etc. etc. etc. etc.

Correct. I should correct my post and add at the pace of Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, etc... One thing that could keep people away from a SD or Seattle is the cost of living. This should not be an issue in Atlanta.

I don't think anyone was actually trying to 'convince' you...but simply to answer your question. If you haven't visited the city, how can you possibly say that you don't see Atlanta as a desirable place? You can't possibly know...

I wasn't suspecting anyone was trying to convince me about Atlanta, as I already have a view of the city and overall I don't see the reason of the city growth etc... besides job placement and like.

Yes you are. If not, then why start a thread about it?

No reason for me to explain, but since you insist....
To get ones opinion of the reason, what others think about the area, basically to get a answer to my question ( vastly base on opinions).. but not looking to be convinced.

Oh, okay...I guess when you posted this statement it sounded as though you were looking to be convinced:

just look at the map. There are more people here than in the west. period. It's not rocket science.
