Should be ok since there are many transplants (lately a lot of Florida folks) move to Dacula area. Just a warning, both Mills Creek and Dacula are very large schools. So be ready for that. Also, Ga has graduation tests you need to pass to graduate. Be prepare for that.
Don't know which schools you came from. If you came from best MA schools like Boston Latin or Newton schools, you may find schools in Georgia is not up to par (to those schools). So take a lot of AP courses when you can.
Finally, be sure to do well on SAT score. UGA incoming student averages 1220 while Ga Tech is average 1340. You need to do well on SAT (to get in UGA or Tech) and to take advantage Hope scholarship.

We moved here from Massachusetts in February and my kids did fine. On a whole, people (kids included) are very friendly. We move every three years for my husbands job and when we moved to MA it was a disaster. We did grow to love it though. My eldest daughter is very shy and came off the bus the first day with a big smile on her face. She hasn't stopped smiling since. My younger daughter who is very outgoing did well also.
The South is a very different culture than New England. Both have their good and bad parts. One thing I love about here is the warmth and willing to help attitude of just about everyone.
Good Luck and I am sure you will do fine. I feel for you as moving is very stressful. I think you'll like it here and the weather is awesome.

Well, tell me which town you're currently living in, in Mass. I can let you know some comparisons to Gwinnett in general. But they will be quite different areas in general regardless of where in Mass. you live.
I don't know anything about friends or making them, but I am much older than you, so its, like, um, different, you know? j/k.

Hey Cutie,
We moved our two teenage sons from FL to GA, and they LOVE it. The kids here have been very open and friendly. We tend to move around a lot, and when my oldest son was the same age as you, we moved from NJ to FL. He was miserable about the idea, but it worked out. One thing that helped a lot, was having his teachers and coaches write letters of introduction, which we sent ahead with his application to the high school. By the time he arrived, everyone was looking foward to meeting him. Even if you are headed to a public high school, letters from current teachers can help, especially if you are looking to get into honors classes. And if you play any sports, let a coach send along an introduction to the coach at your new school. Don't worry, I know it's hard to move, but you'll do fine.
