Default Need Help (plan to move to Decatur)

Hello. I want to thank you in advance for any sincere help that you offer. To make this quick, I plan to go down to Decatur for school at the Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. I plan to become a mortician. Only thing about that is, the college doesn't have dormitories. So I will need to find a place to stay and a job down there.

I am sort of embarrassed, but honestly, I have never been out on my own, really. I did military time, but stayed in the barracks. Other than that, I have mostly been staying with my father and I am in my late 20's. So I would like to know how I should go about finding work and not-too-expensive housing (apartment, studio or 1-bedroom is enough for me). I do not plan to be down there until September when the semester starts.

Thanks for the help!

There was a similar inquiry a few weeks ago.

You would be living outside the city limits of the City of Decatur--public transportation would be limited, if that is a concern.

ProMove is an apartment locator service that has been recommended.

I would check with the school about employment assistance.

Oh. So the school is outside of the city limits? Thanks for the apartment locator service information.
