Coming from the NJ/NY area, yes it sucks down here. I use my phone and put it on shuffle and have never looked back.

Radio station or an app?

I find the Songza app to be a better alternative to Pandora. The lists are created by other people, many times "experts". Its more like radio in that you don't create your own station. Most of the playlists are are well thought out.

I don't believe there are any ads either! Best free music app in my opinion. Spotify is where it is at though if you can pay $10 a month and have unlimited data

I'm a GenXer with mainstream tastes, so I'm in good shape. Between Rock 100.5, 99X and 680 the Fan, I get everything I need out of the radio.

I gave up on regular radio years ago. I use Sirius in my car and Pandora or my own playlist when at the house.

I love oldies 98.9. Have heard they are moving to 100.5 or 106.7.

I was just down in Florida last month right outside of St. Pete, and their radio stations were AWESOME. Almost every time you flipped a good song was on, bunch of old school stuff was getting played, and I rarely ever heard the same song twice.

95.5 the REpeat, V103, Star 94, etc = All garbage. Guess it's time to get satellite radio.

Anybody else feel my pain here?

I know that this thread is old but I do feel your pain. When I visited Florida I too noticed the variety. Same with NYC...a lot of variety. With that being said, I find the pain more manageable when I switch from 97.9 and 98.5.

I use Sirius. Atlanta FM is horrible. Every channel is either rap or country.

100.5 is classic and some modern rock.
