Usually, when we go to the movies, we go to either Atlantic Station, Regal 24, or North Dekalb. But I heard that the movie theaters in Northlake and South Dekalb mall have been completely renovated and upgraded and I heard they both serve food and drinks... Has anyone been to those theaters within the last 6 months and can tell us about them? And what about The Torch?

Secondly, what are the best movie theaters in Atlanta where you can have a pleasurable experience without necessarily breaking the bank? (BTW, by Atlanta, I mean Metro Atlanta, but not necessarily as far out as the Mall Of Georgia, etc.)

I went to AMC Buckhead Backlot Cinema and Cafe - Buckhead - Atlanta, GA just prior to it's renovation. I enjoyed the experience.

Does anyone remember the Draft House? The old Roxy in Buckhead that served beer and showed movies?

I'm devoted to the Atlantic Station Regal...so comfortable. It's my favorite. The Regal Hollywood 24 has some of the rudest patrons I've ever experienced.
The Northlake theatre is now a Movie Tavern...haven't been, but my nephew gave it high marks.

Default Atlanta's Best Movie Theater

I was about to start a new thread, but I noticed that I submitted a similar one, so I'll just simplify the question:

What is currently the best movie theater in Atlanta?

Best overall experience in terms of value IMO is Movie Tavern. They have a good selection of beer and food (not that the food is fine dining or anything, but it works). But they also don't charge you an arm and a leg for the movie ticket. It's a pretty good deal overall.

I am an avid fan of Atlantic Station Regal as well, but the Movie Tavern is pretty good as well!
