What kind of area are you looking for in terms of social outlets? Are you someone who wants to stay in town or do suburbs appeal to you?

You may enjoy Vinings or Smyrna. Best night life for singles is in Midtown, Virginia Highland (as well as good resale potential on a home) and Buckhead but those areas also experience crime because they're in town. Another area to check out would be the Perimeter and parts of Dunwoody. Do you want a house or a condo?

Yes, Atlantic Station would be good too. A bit pricey and there is more crime reported there than in some other suggested neighborhoods. But it has a lot to offer; I'd definitely check it out.

I second sweettea's comments...especially with Dunwoody... Close to downtown, nice area, lots of restaurants and bars around, and should remain a much desired area to live for some time to come.

btw: Good luck with your move. I am originally from Dallas and my cousin also lives here (relocated from Houston about 10 years ago). I'm sure you'll find the right place - lots of good areas to choose from.
