Hi,

Me and my family will be moving to loganville, ga this year. We already bought a house near the bay creek park and is very excited about the move. I was just wondering if there are filipino/asian market that is close-by. Filipno communities? That would be awesome!

Any inputs is much appreciated

There is not a filipino town in the Atlanta area like you find with Koreans, Vietnamese, and Chinese.. You can probably find filipino food at the various asian markets around town.. mostly in Doraville and Duluth.

One other thought....I don't know if they are filipino, but there is a huge asian shopping area driving north of the perimeter (285) on Buford highway.....although i can't remember if it is duluth or suwanee area...

That is primarily Korean and Vietnamese.. the Chinese shopping area is over in Chamblee near the Chamblee Marta station.
Metro Atlanta, btw, has the fastest growing Korean population in North America.

The Super H Mart in Duluth is probably the closest to you.

2550 Pleasant Hill Rd. Duluth, GA 30096 - Google Maps
Hmart.com: Online Shopping for Asian Grocery, Korean Kimchi, Rice Cookers, Appliances & more at everyday low prices.

This would be my second choice, but its about 15 minutes away from the Super H in Duluth. Buford Highway Farmer's Market - Atlanta, GA

There are many Korean restaurants in the Duluth area too.

As others have stated, the Metro Atlanta area does not have a large Filipino population (maybe 20,000 or so) and thusly there is no Pinoy section of town. You do have options however.

The Buford Highway Flea market has a Filipino section with tons of sauces, spices, etc.

For already cooked food there is the Manila Mart (along with other groceries) Manila Mart - Atlanta, GA

Apparently they have a new location in Norcross which isn't too far from you.

There was a Pinoy buffet at the Chinese supermarket on Jimmy Carter, but they are in the process of moving. I'll keep ya posted.

As for connections to the Pinoy community in Atlanta check out the yahoo group PANIG, and when you're in the city drop by the Philippine Consulate in Buckhead. The Consul's name is Ray Donato and is probably the coolest guy you'll ever meet. He'll get you networked and introduced to lots of people to make your transition to our fair city easier.

Welcome to Atlanta
