Not much to say. They probably are saving a few dollars with it, and as comments on that story say, they probably are growing tired of the problem with vagrants in that area. I'd move, too.

Yeah, I would say not having to deal with the vagrants while walking into work or going to grab lunch would be a huge plus!

Wow. So Atlanta won't have a daily newspaper? That is pretty stunning. I guess it is the way things are going though. Oh well, AJC was always too slow and too conservative for me.

I wasn't even aware they talked of moving from downtown, wow! The current building is definitely in very rough shape!!! Won't they still have the dailey newspaper? Either way it seems as though most people read the news online nowadays.

They will still print the paper daily and they won't be changing the name to Dunwoody Journal Constitution. In fact, they failed to mention in their own article that their move placed them in the City of Dunwoody.
I am sure this is a huge money saver and they are still right next to a MARTA station.

If the State would get off it's a** and build the Multi-modal terminal in the railroad gulch, Cox will be sitting pretty with this property.
Still, sad to see them leave Downtown. I believe the building they're moving into was one of the former Macy's Central HQ"s buildings - directly across the street from the Dunwoody Station.

Yup, it was the former Macys southeast HQs. It sure will seem vacant for a while once they move out of their current space, kinda eerie thinking about it!

Sad to see a newspaper move out of downtown. Of course they are still keeping a downtown bureau and a capital bureau. Probably just a matter of time before they go to online only as papers in Seattle and Denver that operated for nearly 100 years have already stopped printing. The industry is dying fast.

And those were what I considered to be good papers. I would love to consider the AJC in that category, but I can't. It has gone steadily downhill over the past several years.
I actually get more news from Creative Loafing & The Sunday Paper than I do in the AJC.
Sad.
