Carrollton to Marietta Commute (Atlanta, Douglas: house, university, live in)

Hey all, I live in Carrollton and have been offered a job in Marietta. Google Maps states that the drive would take just over an hour from my house (I made it in non-rush hour traffic in under an hour). I just want to get a feel for what I would be in for in terms of daily commute time if I say yes.

I moved to the area from the DFW metroplex under a month ago and have only sampled Atlanta's notorious traffic thus far.

Exactly where in Carrollton to exactly where in Marietta is important. From the east part of Carrollton, there are back roads through Carroll, Douglas, and Paulding Counties to West Cobb with a Marietta address or the western part of the City of Marietta that would take much less than an hour. If you're going to East Cobb with a Marietta address, or the south part of the City of Marietta, then it could take longer and you may be forced onto the highway.

I'm on the southwest side of Carrollton, about a mile south of the University of West GA, close to the 166 bypass. My destination is off of 75, a mile or so north of Dobbins AFB. Does this give you (or anybody else out there in the know) any ideas?
