Ritz Carlton Dining Room to close!
The Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead to close | Table Talk
I am so saddened. I have always regarded this as the finest restaurant in Atlanta. Insanely expensive and worth every penny. My wife and I have had quite a few anniversary dinners there and enjoyed every one of them. We kept the souvenir menus, too. This restaurant launched many chef careers and did so much to enhance the food scene in Atlanta, losing it will be a big blow.

Just because you pay more doesn't make something great.

That is true. But in this case it indeed was great!

Sounds like it was a victim of changing times and tastes. I'm sure some future culinary star will be re-invented in the space. It's too valuable to sit empty.

I used to go there with my grandparents years ago. Sad to see it close, but not surprising. I'm sure something will be in there again soon. It notes in there that they are keeping the maitre d' and sommelier on staff. That leads me to believe they are planning something soon.

They deserve no sympathy whatsoever. While I hate to see the waitstaff lose their jobs the owners must be sitting on a fat stack of cash for charnging what they do on cocktails.

There's that hate the rich attitude I was waiting for! Screw them for trying to make money! Let's just ignore the fact that rent in that place has to be insane, they carry only very expensive top shelf drinks, their employees are well trained and well paid, and that the place is nicely decorated. Anybody who charges more than $5 for a cocktail must be a rich fat cat and deserves no sympathy!

that whole building should be bulldozed. The interior looks like it hasn't been updated since 1990. I guess there's so many brand wh*res out there that kept the dump in business for this long.
