What are your opinions on playwright, screenwriter, actor, director, and producer Tyler Perry? Admittedly, I have not seen any of his films, but I am aware that many Atlantans have strong feelings about him (and his films).

He is ok but its time to upgrade. His plays are so predictable and sorta insulting. He has the power now, use it...

Tyler Perry is Ed Wood without the angora (at least that we know of.)

Never watched any of his shows or movies, but I applaud him for investing in Atlanta.

He definitely is the spokesperson in the US for getting things done, mainly himself. But I think that creatively, It's not good to do everything yourselfs. Artists should be allowed to create art without the executive telling them what to do. I certainly wouldn't want to have to work for him.

Please retire Madea. She's no funny anymore and the concept is played out. I would love to see Perry bring something fresh and new to the table, but am wondering if he can?

Tyler Perry is a very intelligent, thoughtful, humble, creative and innovative comedian, playwright and businessman. He is actively engaged and involved in community outreach and enrichment. His story is one of determination, perseverance and survival.

Moviegoers walk away from his movies displaying a range of emotions: Laughing, crying, pensive and/or self reflective. His movies are very accurate in portraying relationship and socioeconomic issues in the African American community. However, they have universal appeal. Many of his characters endure and overcome hardships, childhood and family issues, which is very encouraging for people facing similar challenges.

Very well said. I think he can expand his artform now. He has his audience's attention, but overall good points.
