I know this doesn't help the topic at all... but after learning how to cut my hair about 3 years ago... it would be hard to pull me into a barber shop and pay $15 for a trim.

:P

The Atlanta metro area is huge. I doubt your husband would be interested in driving hours to a barbershop. Can you specify the areas in which you'll be living and working?

That said, in the northern suburbs where we live, barbershops are rare. Prior to moving to this area my husband wouldn't have been caught dead in a salon. But here, he's been obliged to resort to getting haircuts in a unisex salon.

Not to make this a race thing, but is your husband white or black? Very different skills required depending on the kind of hair.

I used to go to the one down in buckhead right off Peachtree across from TGIF, they used be 24hrs but I don't know if they are any more. They had some quality barbers in there. Although I have not been in along time. As many barbershops that around Atlanta you would think you could go anywhere but just like anything else it's hard to find good quality and detailed rientated people.

That 24 Hour barbershop is a rip off.

I don't think there are too many barbers in DT, but there are plenty in the surrounding neighborhoods.

I've heard good things about Off The Hook on Peters Street in Castleberry Hill. There is also Legends in Underground Atlanta as well.

I'd look over in the Sweet Auburn area, maybe Silvermoon (202 Auburn Ave NE)?
