Atlanta will continue to be a hellhole until they pay their police enough to retain them and hire about another 2,000. I moved here a few years ago and I'm getting the **** out. Crime happens in every city but here it's the rule, not the exception. We live like our house is going to be broken into every day. I'm sick of it. If Atlanta wants to be respected then the local gov't needs to make it's #1 priority safety. I don't care how great a place it, I don't want to live there if I feel unsafe MOST of the time. I would love to live in some places like South Africa but I don't give it much actual consideration because it's not (in my opinion) a secure place right now.
The same thing goes for here.
Dont cut the lights or TV off.. That way the burgulars will think your home.
Are they still doing Midtown Mile? It could never touch the real Magnificent Mile in Chicago, but it would definitely bump Atlanta up...
It's not meant to "touch" the Magnificent Mile - it's only a variation on the title of a very successful area of another city. I bet real Chicagoans are flattered by it.
And yes, they are still "doing" the Midtown Mile. Maybe Dayton hasn't heard about the recession, but the rest of us are well aware of it.
I really hope they build our version of "Grand Central Station" between the Ga Dome and 5 points
