Conyers Anyone??
Does anyone know anything about Conyers GA? I plan to move there because of family and could use any useful info., especially about the jobs, churches and diversity of the town. Are the schools any good in Rockdale County?

Not 100% sure but...
From what I hear, the Rockdale Co. schools are pretty good. There does seem to be a huge divide between the have's and have not's in Conyers. When I drove through there a couple of years ago with friends from the area, it seemed like a nice, friendly place.

Are you purchasing a Home? Depends on where you decide to locate as there are good and untasteful areas in any town.

Have you moved to Conyers? That's where we would like to move from Michigan -- great place! They have the old side (very quaint -- didn't like that style and the other side, which is great. Very easy to get around, great shopping area and close to the Stonecrest Mall. Let me know how you like it. We are going down again in July just to check it out and surround areas. Please tell me your findings about this wonderful city!

I was in Conyers yesterday and it is just as great as ever. Still that quaint country feel since the burbs haven't moved out that far yet (key word yet). But then there is lots of new homes in new developments. Shopping appears to be great. Schools have a good name. If your looking for that country feel but close to everything, then Conyers would be a good choice....

Conyers is a great city. I have many friends there and my brother a former professional muscian used to do a lot of shows there in the summer for family, friends, and the locals!
My only fear is how close it is to Covington; Covington is the home of the KKK. Just a thought!
Overall though, aside from the KKK walk throughs that take place from time to time, it is a very peaceful place.
These are just my thoughts, others may have other things to say!;-)

I am not naieve -- but shocked!!! We started to buy a home in Covington. When you say the home, is this where KKK originated, are meetings still held there -- what's happening? That's scarey if it's true and I know you would not put it out there if it were not -- OH MY GOD!!!! Talk to me/us!

janette moss,
Unfortunatly it is 100% true. They hold open public displays whenever they have planned their major meetings!
They come out in the daylight dressed in their outfits and preach their BS and usually during the same night some black church gets burned down or some cross they claim is for Jesus gets burned!
My last visit there was a time when the above stated was going on; and while I would not attract attention, my Chinese wife would by default!
I wish I could say something positive but I can't. Covington is too dangerous for peace loving people!
Oh, by the way, I didn't say that's where the kkk originated, but rather where they are headquartered today, thus it is their home so to speak!

I was hoping there was no truth to this. My God!!!! That is so heartbreaking and so hard to believe! That just makes me sick! I guess it's no secret -- "they are out of the closet"!

Moving to Covington
Can someone please tell me what Covington is like. I am a black middle aged woman who is in the process of buying a home there. I loved the area but I am disturbed by a comment I just read on this forum concerning the KKK.
