Default Need Dr. recommendations for Aspergers

Good Morning! I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good psychologist and/or psychiatrist for my 10 year old who has Asperger's. I had a wonderful recommendation from our prior psychologist but she doesn't accept TriCare insurance.

I've got a list from the internet that I'm going through, but thought I'd check here as well if anyone has any personal recommendations.

We are living in the Summergrove area of Newnan, but I'm willing to commute to anywhere in Atlanta as needed.

Thanks!

Have you inquired at the Marcus Institute?

Marcus Autism Center

I realize you wanted specific recommendations but the Marcus Institute has a very good reputation.

It might make a difference if you have TriCare Standard vs TriCare Prime. Go onto the Ga Psychological Association's website. They have a referral list as well.

Thank you for the replies. I have looked through the TriCare Prime approved list and a few Marcus psychiatrists are listed thankfully!! The soonest we can get in looks like early 2010 according to the appointment desk. We are on said list, however this move isn't sitting well at all with my son and I'm not sure if we can afford to wait that long.

Just trying here for some backups if the next two weeks continues to progress further.

My 10 year old son also has Asperger's. His psychologist is with Powers Ferry Psychological Associates. We've been seeing her for a year and a half. My son loves her. The website is Powers Ferry Psychological Associates - Atlanta, Marietta and Canton Private Psychotherapy and Counseling Practice in Georgia If you PM me I'll give you her name and phone number.
