7/24/16 - any updates on preferred neighborhoods (I'm unfamiliar with Atlanta)? Seeking a neighborhood with homes (I need a bit of grass under my feet), 15-20mins from gayborhood, but suburban living. Not looking for the hip-over priced "in" hood, but rather friendly enough - property keeps reasonable pace with market, schools are good, accessible. If you know Dallas - my former neighborhood was north Dallas, now in Plano....seeking similar. Don't know a soul there, so would like reasonable commute to engage in community activities, short ride to midtown without living there and paying high property taxes.

Sounds like Brookhaven or Chamblee would be a good fit for you. They have tons of gay people up there and it's a short drive or train ride to Midtown.
