Cool Woodstock neighborhoods anyone?

My wife and I are strongly considering moving to the Woodstock area. Mainly because of family that already live in the Towne Lake area. From what we see, Woodstock looks like a very nice, growing place, we think.. Does anyone out there have any opions about the area? We are considering a home in the 200k price range. Does anyone have any suggestions on good neighborhoods etc...??? We are in our upper 20's and looking to start a family. Thanks in advance for your help.

Default towne lake

I absolutely love Towne lake in woodstock. There are really affordable houses and great schools. I would only caution on the commute, if you end up working in the city then you could look at 1 1/2 travel time during rush hour, versus 35 minutes on weekends to go shopping.

There are lots of newer homes being built but they tend to be in the upper 300,000's to start.

The avenues is also coming to woodstock by next year!!!

The Avenues are coming!!!!!!!

Where???

I would look at Towne Lake just pluck in 30189, chances are most of the homes are either in Towne Lake or Wyngate.

Good Luck!

Thumbs up Towne Lake-The Avenues

Go to www.townelaker.com and search the archives. They post all upcoming and current things coming and going in and around Towne Lake. Or you can pick up a copy of the the magazine anywhere in the Towne Lake area if you don't already get it in the mail.

They also list the neighborhoods in the area. I'm partial to Eagle Watch!

The Avenues is currently underconstruction near the tag office. Follow Mainstreet/Arnold Mill road heading toward Canton. Woodstock Knoll a new housing subdivision is being built and across the train tracks the sign is up for the Avenues Ridgewalk. If you search the internet you can find the listing. Should be completed Spring 09

Default Need some assistance

We saw brand new construction by toll brothers in woodstock knoll georgia. Is it really next to the train tracks? Are trains actually on them, or are they just old train tracks not being used? How is the area? is it popular?

I would appreciate all info about this area and thoughts?

Looking forward to your reply,
Brian

That track is a freight line that doesn't get a whole lot of traffic- maybe a train or two a day, and they're slow moving. We had similar tracks near our home in NJ, and after a while you don't even notice the trains.

The only concern I'd have would be if the state ever got their head out of their butt and implemented a commuter rail system using the existing freight tracks. Of course, the chances of that happening are about 1 in a million, so I wouldn't pay it much mind.......
