Clayton County had better get off it's butt and get MARTA to take over C-Tran...this is all about providing services to the residents - even the low-income ones.

A little bit of good news... Ctran is being extended until June 2010... May be that will give a litte time so the state can get off their butts to help public transit in Georgia....Not just Ctran but Marta as well...Georgia has to stop acting like transit is some third hand way around in Georgia... All they think about is roads...

Shame on you Clayton County Government and the State of Georgia,... Shame on you...After the little bit of good news posted in my previous post this Past Christmas day a report came out that Clayton County commissioners failed to take up the resolution that would have extended Ctran and would have given them 2.1 million dollars in federal dollars. Not only that they will have to repay over 2 million dollars...Either its me or some somebody over there wants that transit system gone asap....Now this is a story to watch and the closer to shut down it gets an up roar will probally come out of this...This is a major civil right issue and i think metro atlanta is about to hit radar in a major way with negative press all over clayton county and it commissioners....Sorry to say it but i hope it hits them hard and a lot of commissioners are probally going to lose their jobs and not be re elected...Very deserving of a State and County that does not care about people... very in humaine...

I"m surprised no one has sued yet in federal or state court to get an injunction against them shutting down the service...

I think most people dont know what there rights are...Most people just need to be educated and realise civil rights issues are more than just basic black and white. Its your right to a service to get to work, Dr. office, etc...People need to be protesting this...

Clayton residents please file your law suits in federal court with the fta asap to save ctran... Time is running out....this will be a major set back to transit in georgia if the system shuts down. This is screaming civil rights issue. Not race based but class and people based!!!

I am new to the area and very concerned for those who rely on this service as their primary means of transportation for work, school, doctors, shopping etc.

We are praying for a long-term resolution, but willing to make some noise as well. What civil government office do we need to contact about this?
