Go to the top of the page and click on 'Search' --Key Word: Douglasville, Ga also Carrollton, GA---if you want more FYI on the general area

It is an ? exurb of Atlanta--you would probably not live in Douglasville, but in Douglas County???--from what I have read it is a progressive suburban environment in what was primarily a rural part of west Georgia.

I haven't been over that way lately but I would bet $.50 that it is much like other suburban parts of metro Atlanta. New houses, new schools and they must have several Walmarts. Certain to have some malls and fast food--some nice restaurants.

A great place to visit in west Georgia--is Callaway Gardens--Pine Mountain, GA.

Welcome to Ga.

Yes, you are absolutely right. My dad moved to Douglasville from our old hometown of East Point, GA. and has been there for seven years. Everytime I go out there, it continues to grow in a positive manner. Cheap taxes, great schools, lots of shopping, and still within a good 25 minutes from downtown (you can get in and out of Douglasville so many ways besides interstate 20), you couldn't ask for more. Other cities in Douglas County (where Douglasville is) include Lithia Springs and Carrollton, Carrollton being farther out and Lithia Springs being closer in. Douglasville is by far a great place if you ask me, especially the Chapel Hill area.

If you are used to the inner-city cosmopolitan Dallas atmosphere, you won't like it...but if you live out in Royse City or somewhere you will love it.

My friend who lives in Douglasville got sick of driving so far to Atlanta so he put up his house for sale after only living there a few months. If your job is out there I'm sure it's ok.

Carrollton is actually in Carroll County! You might be thinking of Villa Rica, which actually could overlap a bit into Douglas County.

Wink You are absolutely correct, my mistake!

Yes, you are right, my friend bought at house in the Mirror Lake subdivision and it is Villa Rica, Douglas County, not Carollton, Douglas County. Carollton is strictly Carollton, Caroll County.

From Dallas to Douglasville? Prepare to bored out of your mind, as Douglasville comparatively speaking is quite rural and country. Yeah, 20 miles from Atlanta, which equals 30 minutes with good/no traffic, and who knows what during a morning commute. May I ask why on earth you choose Douglasville coming from Dallas?

Where in dallas you move from? Are you living in West Plano, University Park or South Dallas? I used to live in West Plano for 3 1/2 years. Maybe people can give you better comparision. Like Atlanta, Dallas is very spreadout.

Well, I know someone who moved from here to up there with no problem and I receive housing assistance and I am trying to go through the DCA to come up there and I am from the country (20 miles outside of Dallas) so, I'm sure it won't be a problem, but any info you have to give i am up for it
