Atlanta is only around 70 miles from the border of Alabama. I have to admit..... I agree with him.

I noticed tons of similiarties between Birmingham and Atlanta with culture.
Dallas, Houston and Atlanta have many similarities too.
Birmingham is closer to Atlanta than both cities in Texas so of course it will have similarities to Atlanta.

Yeah, that is my point.

Atlanta is only 70 or 75 miles from the Alabama border. Also, Birmingham and Atlanta are only 140 miles apart. Therefore, there should be similiarities.

Yes and Hartford,CT is 110 miles from NYC, there should be similarities ......

There may be a few similarities, but Atlanta is much larger and more diverse than Birmingham or any place in Alabama. I recently drove to Birmingham and stopped in Anniston along the way. I did not see any similarities whatsoever to be frank the whole way. I felt as though I had stepped back in time and was glad to return to the Atlanta area. There is a southern country element in the Atlanta area, especially on the outskirts of the area, however other groups such as Koreans and Mexicans are just as noticeable in the metro area as a whole.

Umm... Isn't there college football up north too? There are also many rural areas up north where fishing and hunting happens very regularly as well. What's the point behind this thread?

Learn something new every day. Had no idea that Alabama was responsible for all of these sociological innovations.

Really...I thought Fundamentalist Christianity had it's roots in New England and The Great Awakening? I had no idea it came from Alabama!

I feel so dumb...you and I should probably enroll at the high school that the posters making these assertions are currently attending.
