Default Helen, GA

Planning a first trip to Helen, GA and looking for a place to stay 2 to 3 nights in Feb.2010. We'll need 2 hotel rooms OR a cabin or condo-type place would be perfect. We'll be 2 separate families w/ several kids, and it would be nice to be under one roof. Any suggestions? We are looking for something nice, but in reasonable price range. 3 adults, 4 kids & 1 baby. Thanks!

When we go to Helen, we stay in a cabin. We find the cabins on VRBO (Vacation Rentals by Owner).

VRBO® is Vacation Rentals By Owner

The cabins we've stayed in are closer to Unicoi, and require a short drive to get to Helen. We're going up there next week. 2-3 bedroom cabins are running in the $100 per night range right now.

We stayed at the Best Western once and it was perfexctly fine. It's two blocks from Helen's Main strip and the backyard of the hotel has a large field that goes right up to the river.

I second the cabins. It's the only way to go. Pay attention to the distance to Helen. You may want to pop into town for dinner or supplies.

Have fun,

Michael
