The new "sky train" is opening at the Airport (basically a 1.5 mile elevated people mover) that will take people to a large rental car facility and one of the convention centers. No more shuttle buses if you don't want them!

I wonder what their going to do with all that parking real estate now that the rental agencies are moving away.

The new garage reminds me of the rental car center in Orlando....

I don't see how its going improve congestion.

Its not that buses that cause the traffic jams as much as the taxis and people not reading the signs but traffic still jams up on the North Terminal (no idea about the South Terminal) but I'll wait and see.

Agreed. With the exception of the Cobb Galleria, all of the convention centers are now linked by train.

I think there is a worse congestion problem right out side the terminal getting on the highway. Now that the shuttles will be removed for the most part that can only make things better.

I never have that problem since I take the 85/285 South exit so its not an issue...

Now, when I take the Camp Creek side in, I do see the problem with the merge where the buses stop at the yield but traffic is so heavy that they have to wait...

You do have a point, and honestly, I don't think I've ever taken the southbound exit on to the highway from the terminal.

Well, you would only take that exit, if you live on the east side or southside pretty much...

I think it's more to add convenience for some folks as opposed to necessarily reducing traffic.

Regarding the Galleria - at one time, Cobb was toying with the idea of a people movie "sky train" type of system that would link Cumberland Mall, the Galleria, and several nearby hotels together. This was before the recession though, so not sure if that's still on the table or was shelved or not.
