Are we sure he won't be fired. The article says he is suspended without pay pending an investigation. I sure hope he gets fired. Some actions call for letting someone go no matter who they are, especially when its in the public eye.

It depends on his situation IMO...if he has an otherwise good work record with favorable annual reviews, I would think that he could keep his job as long as he attends some required anger management counseling. He clearly messed up, but whether or not he keeps his job should depend on his situation.

1. He should be fired, he was using unacceptable language and making threats.

2. This doesnt surprise me and I don't think any more or less for any CITY worker for any municipality. They all usually suck, so all it would take is some time and a camera and I could go to Cobb, Gwinnett, Dekalb, City of Decatur, Marietta, etc...

3. He should be fired, had he walked away I would have understood. Hell I even browse the internet at work, thats no difference than what he was doing, however his reaction was uncalled for.

4. He should be fired.

I do agree that the city worker should be fired for his actions. BUT, I kinda think the guy on the bike was looking for trouble. Really, why go a film city workers taking a break.

Detroit, Cleveland, Baltimore, Oakland... there are a few where he would still have his job as here. Had it been a white city of Atlanta worker who yelled such language at a black citizen using choice words, you can be assure he would not be on suspension (paid or unpaid) but would be immediately dismissed from his job (as they should be). But this type of double standard goes on everywhere, and on both sides. Had it been a white worker in let's say, rural Georgia, who screamed such things at a black citizen, they would probably sweep it under the rug, too... or at least to the side of the rug. While the citizen in this case did sound like he was poking a bit, there was no excuse for this and as it was caught on tape, there is no reason why the city employee should not have immediately been dismissed.

Not that I agree with the worker's actions, he had a choice. Most people hate to be ignored...and this is exactly what he should have done. If he ignored the vigilante with a camera...I'm certain there wouldn't have been a story. Furthermore, if he-camera guy- felt so threatned, why call the authorities after they leave. Why not take you're complaints to City Hall and heckle, pardon, lobby there to the appropriate officials that can actually address your concerns. So the conduct displayed was inappropriate for someone on the job yes, but essentially, the camera guy started it.
