Hi all, Im relocating to Atlanta in Jan- Feb of next year, and I need to find a local realtor to deal with. I am looking in Cobb County, however im open to other areas where I can get a newer 4-5br home for around 250k or less. I dont mind foreclosures, I just need a good neighborhood for my daughters, and decent schools for when they will be of age. Also I am not having to work in ATL, I will just be commuting to the airport once a week. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!! And thanks for taking the time to help!!

I would suggest taking a look at southern Smyrna and northern Mableton. Do a search on any real estate site in those areas, and I'm certain you will get some hits in your desired price range. It's not a bad commute from there down I-285 to the airport, and much of the area has decent schools.

Kennesaw is a fair distance from 285 and 20, and I-75 can be a pain in the morning. You'd have to add that portion of the commute to a commute from Smyrna.

From Douglasville you can easily get to 20, and take that in, but I have no firsthand experience with how difficult that commute would be. It's quite a distance west.
