Smile Where did you move from?

I know most of the people on this board are southern transplants...

so, what part of the country did you move from?

and also, are you happy now that you're in Atlanta?

Carpetbaggers, all of 'em. :-)

We moved from the southwest Minneapolis suburbs.

Mostly. :-) I miss winter, but I love the greenery down here (people take their landscaping a lot more seriously here!), and the trees are beautiful.

I grew up here, fled in the 80s, lived in St. Louis, DC, NYC and Durham, NC and now couldn't be happier to be back. Great place to raise a family, hands down.

I'm originally from South Florida.

I love it here...and in comparison to South Florida, this is a much nicer place to raise a child.

Haven't moved back yet, but considering an offer from Coca-Cola....

Grew up in Stone Mountain (on the Gwinett/Dekalb line... this was the hinterlands back then! You could still find Indian arrowheads in Little Stoune Mountain creek), family moved to Charlotte in '83. After grad school I moved to NYC ('98), met a girl, had some kids, moved to Jersey.... after 9 years its time to come home and make a Southerner of my wife. But now Atlanta metro is 5mm folks, and some call it "The ATL". Seems a little scary!

Born in Brooklyn, moved up state to Rome when I was older. I lived in ATL for 2 years durring residency for school. ATL is a pretty cool city. I moved several times since then and now to Missouri. Being a New Yorker in MO was a change but now I love it. I dont think I would move away and definately not back to NY. I loved NY when I was there but it is much better here for me. NY is cool to go visit family and such and I like going back to Atlanta but I think I'll stay where im at 4 now

Tennessee to Monterrey, Mexico and then to Atlanta. Traffic and crime in Atlanta not bad after being in Mexico.....At least people drive in there lanes mist of the time. During rush hour in Monterrey, I have seen 3 lane highways become 6 lanes!!
