LOL--Do you like fast paced? They are very busy, a government agency and there is plenty of paperwork--cough--being so close to Emory University/Hospital/CDC I assume that some very competent, highly skilled individuals work there--I meet a number of them at Mason Mill Park/Trail.
With so many vets returning from the Middle East---I would say qualified, dedicated employees would be valued. It is a good area and if you want a place to live---ask away--there are those here who can help relocate you in the bat of an eye.

def. do not like fast pace. i'd like a comfortable pace where i am able to take my time with the vets instead of running around like a headless chicken (private sector way). i am very interested in reloc. to the decatur area. i am trying to find an area not too far from the va (20-30min commute) with great schools (8 & 5 yr old) that is family friendly. also, the wife is a kindergarten teacher so being near the atlanta area would be nice for her if the economy ever gets better and the public school system begins to hire again. we are looking to buy in the 200-250k range (after renting for a while first) any help you or anyone else could give would be much appreciated.

I'm a Navy vet who tagged along to the VA hospital with a friend who had an appt. at 1:20.They called him at 3:20. I went along to get my ID card because I'm a transplant from the Miami VA. and the place is a madhouse. I tried the Athens clinic when I first got here but you must go to the Augusta hospital if you need test. Thats 200 miles round trip so I transferred to the Atlanta VA. I must tell you I'll have to be close to death before I put up with that madhouse.Stay healthy my brothers.
