Sorry, I did not mean to hijack the thread or imply that you were trying to scam the restaurant. I understand that you had a bad experience there. I was just trying to raise the point that the restaurant has a reasonable policy in comping deserts in this situation. It is still up to the customer (you) to decide if that is sufficient to bring you back, and it sounds like in your case it is not.

Still, I've had good dining experiences at Oceanaire, so I don't want the OP to be overly influenced by one negative experience.

I had a dinner at the Oceanaire the other night, and I loved it. The oysters and crabcakes were incredible. It was nice sitting down and getting an amuse bouche. It's really expensive, but it seems to be about the freshest seafood we can get in Atlanta.

I understand. I really think that I caught them on a bad night, and all restaurants have them.
