Default African American relocating from NJ to Atlanta

My husband and I will be relocating to Atlanta. We are also African American. We are looking for a safe place to live in the surrounding Atlanta area. We have been tormented by gangs here in Trenton, NJ. We are also looking for a mixed race community to live in. We are interested in real estate investment properties. Can someone give me some information.

There are many options available to you, however we need additional information. What type of information are you looking for exactly? Do you have an area in mind? Do you have family in Atlanta? That's just for starters.

The area around Camp Creek Parkway is booming and is very diverse as well. Not sure what kind of investment properties you're looking for (are you looking to live in one or just flip them?) but there are a lot of options around Atlanta. Tell us more about where you'll be working so we can give you better options in terms of communities.

Thank you for your response. We are looking to flip the houses.

We are looking at the surrounding area of Atlanta. I work in the healthcare field. So I have been looking at the local hospitals in Atlanta. We have had our eye on Stone Mountain.

Right now we are looking at Stone Mountain. We don't know much about other areas. We are trying to collect information. Any area surrounding Atlanta would be fine. We have family in this area but I don't know exactly where.

Are you actually looking to LIVE IN the homes you're going to flip while you're remodeling them? Or are you just going to move here and buy other homes separately to resell along the way?

Stone Mountain has a couple of ok areas still, but overall it has gone downhill quite a bit in the last few years (crime increases, some gang activity, etc). While you may be able to find some investment/resell properties there, I wouldn't really want to live there these days, myself.

As someone said, there are mixed areas along rapidly growing Camp Creek that are ok. Certain areas west of town (Austell, Mableton, Powder Springs) have good (and a few bad) areas. If you want to take your chances a bit, just west/SW of downtown Atlanta has some run down areas that are in the start of being redone by some people and you can get some good deals on abandoned or foreclosed homes in that area to flip (but again, not sure if I'd want to live there just yet).
