Default Need help with 2br apt(800$ - 1000$) between Midtown and Sandy Springs and near MARTA station

I need to move to Atlanta by Jan end / Feb 1st week.

My wife has a job in downtown & mine is in suburbs (Marietta) .
Both of us have a need to travel regularly and so it was suggested I stay in walking distance to a MARTA station , so the commute to downtown and airport is easy using MARTA.

I am looking out for a decent apts with a rent between 800$ to 1000$ anywhere from Midtown to Sandy Springs though would prefer a place closer to downtown so its easy for my wife to commute and manage her job.
2br is preferred , but can look at 1br too.

From what I have read I get an impression that Post Property Mgmt seem to be one of the better properties...

Please help me by suggesting some apts which match my criteria.

Thanks very much for the help.

Post is good, but 800-1000 will barely get you a 1bedroom in midtown, not familiar with Marietta but I would imagine the further out you go the cheaper it would be.

Thanks very much for the response.
What would be the rents in midtown like ? How far do you think one should move out from Midtown along the MARTA line to afford a 1 / 2 br in 800$ to 1000$?

Are there any good apartment agents / hunters who could help ?

Have you tried Craigslist?

classifieds - craigslist

It should give you a good idea of prices in different areas.

You'd have to be way beyond MARTA to be at that price. Try Cumming, Canton, Buford, Douglasville, Dallas, Conyers, Covington, etc.

There are several in town.
As someone suggested above- Craigslist. There you'll find "affordable" basement, attic, or garage apt's ( owned by private individuals- not complexes).

I would suggest looking at an apartment somewhere in Lindbergh. The Marta station is right there. My old apartment,771 Lindbergh, had two bedrooms for less than $1100.

Definitely try Lindbergh. Specifically try the Harmony at Peachtree Hills complex (I personally know rent there for a 1BR is $609/month...not sure about a 2BR) or Post Lindbergh complex. Both are right across the street from the Lindbergh Marta station. Lindbergh is right halfway between Midtown and Buckhead.
