I honestly don't think we'll ever see Trump get built, and I'm fine with that.

Trump Tower will be built once the economy bounces back, he didnt want to build it during a recession

1400 Peachtree is having several companies draw up building designs for this project, they said the process would take about 16 months

Where on 10th street is the Mandarin Oriental supposed to be built? Is it just going to be a hotel or a combo hotel/condo building? Thanks!

In 5+ years every empty parking lot in Midtown will be a skyscraper

Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta will form an integral part of a planned 53-storey mixed-use development to be located at 1138 Peachtree on the emerging “Midtown Mile”. The project is designed to be amongst the tallest structures in Atlanta, featuring a soaring glass façade with panoramic views over the historic Piedmont Park and the surrounding metropolitan areas. A showcase of elegant, contemporary design, the hotel plans to feature 198 guestrooms, including 35 suites. The project has been designed to feature 71 luxury living spaces on the building’s top floors which will be branded as The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta.

Sorry Tony, but I have a feeling it won't happen. Talk to folks in Tampa about Trump, and you'll get an earful.

I have been told that the Chicago office of famed SOM (Skidmore, Owings & Merrill) is doing the design for 1400. I do know that InterContinental intends to make the Hotel portion of the tower their U.S. Flagship property.

This is actually the one (1400) that I'm the most excited about, along with Metropolitan Center across the street.

53 stories, wow! 1010 Midtown is 35 stories. Hard to think of a building that is going to be that much higher.

Any word on the current parking lot for AGL Resources on West Peachtree? I hope they keep it a company parking lot, but I'm sure they could get a ton of money for it. That would completely ruin my view.

That parking lot will be problematic to build on, Archan. The MARTA line runs directly though the center of it, so air-rights AND specially reinforced support beams are in play there.

It may be one of the last surface lots to go, because of those factors.

Your view should be good for quite some time.

Thanks! Didn't think of the MARTA issue, makes total sense. I kept worrying about having a new building there to ruin my view, in addition to my property value dropping like a rock. It is a load off my mind.

How many stories is 1400 Peachtree going to be? Anybody have a copy of what the building might look like yet?

Don't know if this is the design for the proposal but I stumbled upon these images that are labeled 1400 Peachtree.
