I graduated in December 2007 and am still looking.

I'd consider relocation, but I'd need a job before I go to another city.
nobody is building, so no architecture, landscape arch, engineering is being done. Layoffs all over the place. I would not be suprised if the design fields are among the highest unemployment rates right now (of professional degrees).

Temp jobs often turn into a regular job with the temp agency's client company. Some call this "a temp job becoming permanent" but I don't like to use the word "permanent" when it comes to jobs.

I've been trying to find temp agencies. I saw one on the 2nd floor of Caroline street @ the edgewood retail district. I went through the process, but they never called or anything. That was a year ago. Ever since then, I have been looking for one I think is "legit".

Their offices seem to be empty most of the time and I hardly see anyone not with the company in them when people are in them.

I'm in the engineering field, and believe me, there is way more work out there than I can do....I am being relocated to Atlanta for a major long-term project on very short notice. If you are looking for work, definately try looking in the metro DC area...
