News opens from the Mid 70's. Good views of local scenes. I see traffic sucked back then too, LOL:

Here is a newscast during a very dark, tragic time in Atlanta history. This was in 1981, during what became later known as the Atlanta Child Murders. I'm assuming that was Wayne Williams that the reporters and anchors kept referring to as "The Man":

OMG I LOL'd at the news segments. Remarkable how well-preserved Monica and John are after more than three decades.
I knew Johnny Beckman...he had to have been an inspiration for Anchorman Ron Burgundy!
Sadly, I read recently about Jim Axel succumbing to lung cancer at his home in FL. During his time in Atlanta, he was a longtime resident of Oak Grove/Echo Woods.

Grindin, thanks for posting these. I really enjoyed watching them. By the way, if any poster ever gets the chance to hear Monica speak or give a talk off air (not sure how much of this she does anymore), be sure and go. She just lights up the whole room.

I so agree, AMA...she is the real deal: a sincerely nice person that deserves every iota of her success.
