My son is starting a master's program at GSU next week. He has been searching for parking info, and can only find daily rates ($4.50). That will add up quickly. Can anybody suggest another option? Thanks.

Turner Field is free he need to go to the parking services desk and get a parking pass for turner field. Its white this year. If he loses it I think its $25 for a new one.

Barring parking at Turner Field (approximately a half-mile away), I would highly suggest MARTA rail, as there is a station directly bordering the campus and a monthly pass is $60.
Incidentally, I start on Monday.

Is there a regular shuttle from Turner Field to the campus?

Yes there is. The deal is the student parks at turner field, then gets bused to the campus.

The only setback is that student cars must be out of turner field during home games or your car can be towed. Your son just needs to know the schedule.

It's not too big of an inconvenience, unless your son plans to be studying late into the night, because baseball games are played in the late afternoon during weekdays.

For students, Marta passes are $37.50. My fiance is in a Master's student in the Accounting department and he would rather catch Marta than park at Turner because if I am not mistaken the lot is closed for game days.

The price went up..It's in the $40's (depending on your school)...its 45.50 now @ my college... Easier to catch marta and get off at the GSU stop.

Just an FYI, the stations on the east line intown parking lots get full quickly (excluding East Lake)....

I think the posters is correct when he says its 37.500, GSU has a cheaper rate than the other schools in the Metro for some reason.

Yeah, I took MARTA most of the time when I was a student at GSU. It was much easier than parking.

Depending on which part of campus your son will be spending most of his time, GSU station might not be the best stop. GSU station is right next to the main campus, but the Aderhold Building and the Music Building are much closer to Peachtree Center Station (on the North/South line).

Oh ok.

Probably have to do with the numbers of students who use it. When the train stops at the GSU in the morning, alot of kids get off. Half the train will empty out before 5 points...
