Default Atlanta Area Medical Plans?

Our family must enroll for medical coverage and our options for the Atlanta area include:

Aetna
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Coventry Health Plan of Georgia
Humana
Kaiser

We'll probably have to use their list of doctors and affiliated hospitals.

Any thoughts about or experiences with these health care providers or their networks in the Atlanta area?

Thanks,
Global Nomad

We had Aetna. I'd say it's ok IF you are 1) young and healthy 2) You can research and take care of your problems. Actually I'd say that for any HMO. Through Aetna I had an awesome OB that I loved. The only problems I ever had were with Aetna and trying to get them to pay for things. It only happened a couple of times but it did take a lot of phone calls.

Hopefully someone here can give you insights to the other insurances.

We have the Humana Point of SErvice plan which includes almost every doctor I would ever want to use -- but Humana (and every other major insurer) has a zillion different plans. Can you network with employees where your husband will be working and get feedback from them?
