Newbie here...
My daughter and her husband will be moving from Arizona to Georgia soon and he will be working in Stone Mountain. Would like to get information on lthat area or surrounding areas as far as living, neighborhoods, schools, shopping, etc. They have 2 boys, 5 and 9 so good schools are important. Thanks. |

There are a number of recent threads on Stone Mountain and the vicinity--including nearby towns --Snellville, Lawrenceville, Loganville, Grayson and Dacula. Click 'Search' at the top of the page and enter the appropriate keywords. Here is a Stone Mt thread>>> We did it - Stone Mountain It might be better to look for a home in Gwinnett County and commute to Stone Mountain. The areas of Stone Mountain that are close to Memorial Drive and Jimmy Carter Blvd/Gwinnett Village/Lilburn have higher crime stats than other areas. sls |

Tucker should be considered, too. From Tucker to Stone Mountain is an easy reverse commute.

Not the greatest increase in the history of real estate, but certainly not the dismal scenario you're describing. Where are you getting your figures? Frankly, I don't think they're accurate. |

Look just below his name for the first part of the sentence (in bold). People have been starting their posts like that a lot around here lately. I think it makes things harder to read.

Completely depressing to see one's childhood neighborhood go to hell. The house they bought in '71 for $30k (in Tucker) would now list for upper $100's (based on comps). |
