I'm typing this from my phone so i'm going to keep it brief. I'm considering moving to the Atlanta area. The job would be in Tucker. I see that population wise, Tucker is a relatively small area. I love the city life. I'm a young professional. However I also know that Atlanta traffic is brutal.

1. I'm assuming Tucker is suburban, so I wouldn't want to live there. What are good parts of Atlanta for young single professionals?

2. What sort of commute should I expect from said areas? I'd like to keep it under 30 minutes each way...is that possible? Thanks!

Tucker is actually a fairly large area. Most of it is suburbs and some of it is industrial and/or office parks.

The closest place to live that would be suitable for a young single professional is City of Decatur. It's directly in between Tucker and Downtown Atlanta. It's a ten minute/five mile drive from Tucker.
