Default Great Schools? Bad schools?

Hey all! I'm looking for some opinions on schools around the North Fulton area. I know some schools have great academics while others have great athletics. I have no children yet but my job sorta requires that I know all about the schools. SO, tell me what you like and why and what you hate and why. Tell me, what's new? I know that Centennial was listed in the top 25 schools in Georgia, so that's great because I live in that school district currently. Any help would be great, especially if you have any info from the inside track that could keep me abreast of what's to come and what recent changes will mean for us! Thank you!!!!

Click 'Search' at the top of the page and enter relevant keywords--there have been many discussions on this topic.

The Georgia DOE/Dept of Education has a website--you can obtain additional information there--that is the 'Inside Track'. Georgia ranks 48th out of 50 states on national test scores--so improving public education in this state is a priority for many.

Perhaps you could contact Fultcon County School System, also?

ATLienGirl is on a distinguished road
North Fulton is like, as my excoworkers and I would say, the land of milk and honey. Most people I know that teach up there NEVER leave, and openings are hard to come by. I haven't heard too many bad things about any of those schools, especially in the area where you are. The only high school that is sort of going down is Riverwood High; it's not what it used to be, but, other than that, those schools up there are nice.

Go to the Fulton Schools website and find out when the Board meetings are. They are open to anyone, especially Fulton tax payers and residents, and will keep you abreast as far as what's going on in the system. If you contact them, they will probably give you the runaround.
