Here's an interesting article about the Northwoods neighborhood in Doraville:

Doraville subdivision preserves American turning point *| ajc.com

*Northwoods may gain "historic" status.

*This is great news for Doraville--especially considering the possibilities at the former car plant.

*This is more reason to think that Doraville will definitely be an "in" place in the next few years: ITP convenience, MARTA station, transportation crossroads, nice neighborhoods, redevelopment at the former car plant, Buford Highway Corridor restaurants/shopping, etc..

*Enjoy the article!

Great article!

It reminds me of my grandparents ranch they built in 1963. Great house!

Yeah, Northwoods is a great neighborhood - a lot of the houses are very "Brady Bunch" in that modern, mid-century way. Embry Hills is another one, just barely OTP along Chamblee-Tucker Rd.

There is another little enclave in Chamblee known as Sexton Woods that I also really like.

North DeKalb is full of little hidden gems - if you know where to look.

Right on. That's one of the first things I noticed when I moved to that area of the Metro as a grad student/young adult.

Just to be sure, isn't some (really most) of Embry Hills technically ITP?

I had no idea that the heart of the neighborhood was ITP! The part I'm familiar with is OTP, on the North side of Chamblee-Tucker.

One of my favorite little Cuban sandwich shops is over there in the old Kroger plaza - sounds like I need to take a ride to eat and explore!
