I'm all prepared to move to Westchester at Clairmont. I just learned that they are zoned for Montclair Elementary. I have 4 yr old twin boys. I don't know what to think about this school. My boys will be going to preschool at another location so the only thing I'm concerned about is their kindefgarten year. After that, we'll have bought a house in another area.

So, can anybody tell me, is this school ok for kindergarten? And I don't mind diversity. My concern is the quality of education there...even for kindergarteners...

I don't have any FYI for you, I'm sorry.

You can contact DeKalb County Schools>>>
Welcome to DeKalb County Schools

Montclair Elementary>>>
http://www.dekalb.k12.ga.us/schools/...ary/montclair/

and

http://www.dekalb.k12.ga.us/montclair/

Or go and visit Montclair Elementary--ask to speak with an administrator.

You can form your own opinions. That's all I can offer.

I think this school is tucked back behind an office park or apartments off Clairmont Rd. I live in this area and can tell you that traffic on Clairmont can be very heavy at many times during the day. Once I think I heard/knew that Montclair is quite diverse. I think at one time part of the attendance area included Buford Hwy.

Montclair really isn't diverse, it is largely Hispanic and largely has students who don't speak English at home.

This doesn't necessarily make it a bad school just one that may be different than you are expecting.
