Default Moving Kennesaw

It's possible we will be moving to the Kennesaw/Marietta area later this year. We are looking for a home to rent that has a finished basement apartment so we (grandparents) can live there with our daughter and son-in-law until my husband can move there and buy our own home. Are there houses out in those areas for rent? We would be sharing the rent. We are moving from Northern Calif. so it's a big step for all of us. Any info is appreciated!

You want to browse Craigs List first to get a feel for rents.

As in searching Craigs: atlanta apts/housing for rent classifieds "kennesaw" - craigslist

This is also being moved to the Atlanta room since Kennesaw is a suburb of Atlanta.

Hi Terri1175,

It looks like we are in similar situations My husband and I are moving to Kennesaw from So Cal in a few months.

The sites I have been using are realtor.com (just click on "rent" instead of "buy" and you can click on all the options you need (pet friendly, rooms, view...etc) and I also use rentals.com.

Be careful on craigslist. I recently contacted someone about a property for rent and it was a total scam. They lived in West Africa (missionary work) and replied they will send me the keys to the property if I would send them first months rent....um, yeah right! Not saying craigslist is bad, just be careful.

Good luck in your search. Also, check around for what zipcodes are good for Marietta. I have read that in general Kennesaw is a good place (family oriented and low crime), but I have heard there are some dicey areas in Marietta.

My husband and I plan on visiting in July. I will post what we find as we are looking at Kennesaw, Marietta, Acworth, Woodstock, and maybe Powder Springs (we are all over the place).

Let me know what the weather is like in July too I don't know when we would be out there but probably sometime during the summer or early fall. When are you actually moving?
