I'll preface this by saying that I am a current GT Evening MBA Student, so I might be biased, but my bias is based on my experiences and my research in choosing the GT Program. With that said...
I looked around and was intrigued by the cheaper programs (GSU, UGA, KSU). Some of these even had "higher rankings." Being from Atlanta, but having lived elsewhere for 5 years, I remembered KSU and GSU as being lesser schools and the backup plan for UGA and GT. This was my perception from undergrad and I wondered if this was/wasn’t the case for MBA programs. I pulled out the rolodex and talked to a few head-hunters around the country to get their opinions. All three advised that Georgia Tech's program is fast rising and the Georgia Tech name-brand carries huge weight around the country. I did more research and the job placement rate is incredible. I don’t think there is anything close to this in the other programs. The GT name and the way the program is organized (focus on application with a technical emphasis) are a great combination. This may sound petty, but If I'm going to pay $20,000+ ($40,000 for GT), I want to get a degree that holds serious weight wherever I take it. People know what KSU is in Atlanta, but travel out of state and you’ll likely get blank stares.
My wife enrolled in GSU MBA program immediately after graduating Undergrad. This to me seemed pretty fishy because what on earth could she have contributed to class discussions? She will say almost 10 years later that she got a piece of paper, but put forth very little effort and wouldn’t do it again. I know GT does not admit those without work experience and I would imagine this makes for more engaging discussions. I think they are, but I can’t directly compare to other programs.

Hope this helps some. I know it is a little biased, but do some research and I think you'll see many of the same things.
