Atlanta is No. 2 on Forbes' ‘miserable sports cities' list *| ajc.com

Forbes puts the city as No. 2 on its list of “America’s Most Miserable Sports Cities.”

Stop. This has nothing to do with the debate over whether Atlanta sports fans are loyal or the arenas are cushy or the news media is nice to a team’s owner. Or, a group of arguing owners.

Completely agree!!

Not surprised, Braves should have won at least two more World Series, those Darn Yankees! But I am surprised Dallas isn't on the list, I've become indifferent to my hometown Mavericks and Cowboys. I was so spoiled in the nineties. "Fool me once Jerry Jones shame on you, fool me twice...well you can't fool me twice(insert GWB laugh)"

I think these lists are sort of silly but this is interesting. It is such a transient city that it is tough to for us as a whole to get behind or care about the same thing. I much rather prefer the Braves of the 90's who kept getting close to the last place team we have now. I am thankful for the run.

We've had some pretty good teams: 1991-2005 Braves, late 80s Hawks, various good seasons for the Falcons....but in the fifty years since major league sports have been in Atlanta, all we have to show for it is one stankin' championship. I still support all of the teams 100%. I could never root for another city, that would make me a traitor. 4\

We love baseball, but it isn't much fun sitting in a half-empty stadium. Maybe we need to invent a curse to explain the lousy finishes for the Braves, then built it into a whole campaign like the Cubs did.
