There are so many great areas for college students to live and thrive in Atlanta. A lot obviously depends on your budget, the location of the school, and your particular wants/needs. Atlantic Station has some great deals now with motivated sellers and landlords and it puts you in the heart of the action. Very convenient for GA Tech and Georgia State Students.

Help please. I'm looking to move to Atlanta as a long-term renter -- not transient -- and need some advice on the best neighborhood/apartments in the city. I prefer urban living, near shops and city and cultural activities, not car-dependent. I would like to have the option of driving or not driving, so public transport is important. I don't want to spend more than $1200 max for rent since I will need to spend another $200 probably on utilities. I do not wish to own, so I will be a renter for life. Full-time employment is not very important to me. I want a nice apartment, not a "can-do at this time" apartment, as I plan to stay.

I've been looking and found one I like at 1040 Huff Rd, Atlanta GA 30318 -- does this fit my wish list above? It is described as being located in midtown. Needless to say, I would, of course, want to live in a safe neighborhood, age-diversified, e.g., young and hip with mature and hip. In other words, while I'm of that age (recently retired), I do not want to be among just old, immobile folks as I'm not there yet.

How about 950 Marietta St., Atlanta GA 30318 described as downtown Atlanta. Another is 1750 Commerce Drive NW, Atlanta GA 30318 and 2000 Monroe Place NE, Atlanta GA 30324 described as being in Buckhead.

Thanks!
