There are so many good suburbs and schools in GA surrounding the Metro Atlanta area it would be hard to narrow them all down based on the "best city to raise a family."

For example:

Do you need to be in a certain area for your work?
Would you have to commute?
Would you mind a commute?
Do you like to be near the city?
In the country?
Do you care about swim and tennis communities?
Would you rather not be in a community?
Do you need a lot of land?

There are good schools all over the place. Do you want public or private?

If Lilburn is the place you want to be and schools are the most important determining factor for where you want to live you might want to start at greatschools.net where you can check out teacher scores, student scores, test scores, and both parent and student reviews.

I hope that helps.

Bill

In Lilburn, There are two school districts: One is Trickum Middle School/Parkview high school area (pretty good) and another is Lilburn middle/Meadow Creek high area (no so good).

You also could check Snellville area, A C Crews/Brookwood high are considered good school district in that part of town.

Also, there seems to be large South Asians (Indians, etc) in the Parkview high school areas.
Many of them work/have shops at Dekalb county.

Thank you JXU66.
I have checked Trickum middle school through greatschools.net. I think it is pretty good. Definitely i'll check Parkview high school.

We are looking for a business (gas-station) in Lithonia. Do you have any info. on crime in that area? We'll be moving from Toronto,Canada, so don't know much about the area.
