I remember going to buy new shoes, getting my feet x-rayed, and getting ice cream afterward at the Miss Georgia Ice Cream Shop. I also remember getting a plastic golden goose egg filled with little prizes from the shoe store. Anyone remember what brand of shoes gave those out?

There was one at Virginia-Highland where our step-grandfather used to take us on Saturdays while he got a haircut. They had banana splits to DIE for!

We went to the one in Oakland City on Lee Street next to the fire station and behind the Ragsdale Elementary School and occasionally to the one in Cascade Heights. My favorite was chocolate malt. Does anyone remember the double cones that were like to pointed cones connected and you could get two different flavors, one on each cone.

My mother used to take us to the one at North Decatur Plaza. Getting the golden egg was always such a thrill.
