I am having such a hard time deciding on a place to live near Emory. It seems every apartment complex in my price range gets bad reviews on apartmentratings.com.

My biggest concern is bugs---I simply cannot deal with a place that has roaches. Can anyone recommend, based on experience or someone's experience who is close to you, a decent apartment to live in near Emory that is within the $600-$700 price range?

I've been considering:

Highland Lake-Considering it but read that they have a bug problem
The Clairmont-Considering it but read that they also have a bug issue
Archstone Decatur-My top pick, but no 1 bedrooms available

I know it's the south and we're gonna have bugs, but if someone writes that they had a unit that had bugs all the time, even after spraying, it makes me concerned. Can you tell I have a bug phobia?? lol Anyways, any recommendations???

Calibre Woods on LaVista Rd has been suggested several times.
No mention of bugs.

Calibre Woods would have been an option but they are out of my price range :/

I will contact ProMove, as I've heard good things about their services...

My sister used to live in a small complex on Scott Blvd. I believe it was called Creekside? Right across from the old Westchester Elem in Decatur. It's been a while but a few years back it was in your price range. They never had bug problems.

Hampton Hall can have bugs but they do come in and spray, and it's a friendly apartment complex in your price range. Not gorgeous, not perfect, but I lived there for two years and it was fine. People are nice and mostly keep to themselves. The free Executive Park shuttle from Emory goes by there in the mornings and afternoon/evenings, plus there's the #6 Marta bus. Walking from Hampton Hall, it'd take you a half hour to get to the top of campus and an hour to get to the bottom.

Check out the apartments on Dekalb Industrial Blvd. There are at least five apartment complexes within a mile radius. Particularly, Jackson Square had a deal going a few weeks ago (1BR for $650) and as far as I know that place has no bug problem.

^^YES!

I found Jackson Square last week and applied there for a 1 bedroom. I like this place ALOT. Close to Emory, quiet, clean, nice pool, spacious, etc.

It's between a 1 bedroom at this place...or sharing a 2 bedroom at Columbia Park Citi apartments here:

^I don't know anything about this place really but I'm going to visit it today. If anyone's heard of this place or knows anything about the safety in this particular community please let me know....
