Hi everyone... I would be grateful of any help/advice, on what Jonesboro is like, to rent or buy a property, I'd be working with young people, I'm doing my Degree now in Youth and Community Work and I have a level 4 Diploma in Counselling, so it'd be great on any information about work in this field. Either Jonesboro or ATL.

I have, after posting this read posts on how ppl don't leave enough info in there thread... i'm at least two yrs away from moving because i'm planning on saving and doing my masters, to hopefully make finding work, easier. i'm not to sure on any other info to leave right now, because i'm so far away from the move, just wanted some general info on if there is work in these fields? maybe from one or two english ppl living out there, so they could share there experiences, is it safe?.... and anything else people think, (that are use to writing on threads abt these things) i might be interested in knowing. Thanks

Few things: As your probly know the Unemployment rate in US is on the high side now. So compuation for job is big. Do you have a Visa that will allow working? Can you being English get the child/backgroup check done that will allow you to get a job in your field. US clearence is done thru state and FBI. Would guess that US would have to send reqests/fingerpints over to the UK to be done and that could take awhile to get the clearence.

I do have police checks, which will probably be different in the states, but i can still show them on request. I've worked with young people for ten yrs.

The working visa, i don't have, but i'm familiar with the process and relevant websites.

Finding work in most climates these day is very difficult, even in the u.k, which is why i plan to do my masters and take some time to save and, now you mention it think about the visa process, i do have a friend in Jonesboro, who i'm visiting in a few wks, and i'm planning a trip to twin cedars youth service to get an idea of how the youth service in Georgia works. If you know of any other youth service around that area which i might find useful to check out please feel free to leave info... thanks

Thanks flyonpa for your reply
