What are some things you must have done or seen to become an Atlantan?

Being born here is the only way to be a true Atlantan! The rest of you are transplants and can never make such a claim and why would you? If I moved to another place I would never claim to be (insert town). You are where your from. Not where you move too!

If someone was born here and raise somewhere else, they wouldn't know anything about Atlanta to claim, I have a cousin like that in Texas and she was born here but raise in DFW. If you ask her where she's from she will tell you Texas.

And on the flip side

What if you where raise in Atlanta? my family came from Chicago when I was 4, and I live out in Dallas for part of my teen years but most of my life has been in Metro Atlanta. Atlanta, Smyrna, Doraville, Griffin, Norcross what else do I suppose to claim. How about if you have an Atlanta accent maybe? the time I spent in Texas they kept on reminding me of this. but that isn't anything compare to how out of place I feel when visiting Chicago.

Basically I meant it is where you grew up, if you moved somewhere when you were 4 you will have no memories of that place only the place you grew up in. I just find it odd that an adult moves here and then claims to be an Atlantan. Sorry but you arent an Atlantan, you just live here.
