This is great news for the CSRA.Im actually rather suprised at the speed that things occured. Now before I get excited I want to see them actually breaking ground. WRDW is reporting that it will open by November 2011 so I guess we'd better get on the ball. I wish the developer would release some type of plan for the whole site soon. I believe they were up at some point on their website but nowhere to be found now. I know there will be people hating on the big box stores moving in and wanted more of a lifestyle center but i certainly believe we can have both.Ive said it before and Ill say it again, Id love to see a Village at Sandhill concept here in Augusta. Its the perfect mix.
VILLAGE at Sandhill (http://www.villageatsandhillonline.com/map.php - broken link)

The downside to this , in my opinion, is that you have 2 areas that will remain under developed until some more national chains decide to move in. Those being VAR and whatever the Carmax location is. Id like to see one full then start to work on the other. Should be an interesting few weeks if Bass Pro is serious about getting here.
2011 could be a great year for the CSRA

The best news I've heard in a while. Bring Trader Joe's next and I won't have to visit Atlanta.

I think the ground breaking is slated for the beginning of next year. The store will sit on 16 acres at the VAR.

Even Georgia Public Broadcasting printed a article today.
